NÄnÄ relax and graze on a cool Waimea afternoon while the now quiet soccer field sets the foreground, the rodeo horse track behind, and snow capped Mauna Kea in the distance keeps watch over all.
Lava for the last 3 weeks on Mauna Loa. Snow today on Mauna Kea. Hawaiâi Island never disappoints.

We just had one of our âmust recommendâ experiences!! Voltaire and Norman at Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary are wonderful. We went to see a couple of friends who said come by and we can take a hike in the jungle. I thought Voltaire was joking. OMG, thank G he wasnât. Their property is a sanctuary. Norman knows everything about the plants and more. Voltaire is always a loving bright spark to light up your day and explained a lot about the history of the land. We enjoyed a great little informative hike and meditation. They accepted our offer to come back and do some voluntary trail building and clean up needed after the recent hurricane. We will be back!!! Do this tour.
Due to a massive fire last year between Kamuela and Saddle Road, the rains today brought massive runoff and with that came the worst conditions Iâve ever seen on the upper road (Hawaiâi Belt Road -190) through that area. The road was closed at the turnoff to Waikiâi Ranch. I guess my business meeting in Waimea wasnât that important today. LOL đ.ââ Kudos to Hawaiâi Island Department of Transportation!!! They repaired the road and made adjustments for possible future weather events. Mahalo.

This is our first time back to The Coffee Shack since CoVid started. We are both so grateful for this little breakfast/lunch shack on the side of the hill. Good food. Good coffee. A bit voggy today but always a great panoramic view. I enjoyed local caught Ono Benedict today with potatoes. My wife enjoyed the Eggs Benedict and we split one of there memorable cinnamon rolls. See you at The Shack!!

We are working our little tails off. Leise has her Henna business where she does beautiful temporary tattoos on beautiful bodies while relaxing to the sound of ocean waves crashing nearby. Her office is right on the beach as she watched bronzed sons of Hawaiian gods walk by. She is at both the world famous Hapuna Prince and Mauna Kea hotels. Very nice.
I am selling luxury real estate in the ‘Gold Coast” called Kohala Coast. I still help my buddy sell his Javaloha coffee on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the farmers market. It is my relax time because his is the best coffee I’ve ever had.
We are getting ready to move back north. We have been in Kailua Kona for the last 3 years. It’s time for a change. We are both very happy and grateful to be living here. When are you coming to Big Island?
Jim, I second what my wife just said! We need you to bring us the golden sunshine and sparkling beaches! I just checked this post because I’m feeling so BLAH today…I needed a little pick me up. Don’t let us down!!! We hope you’re doing well. Less than two months to go until our second little girl arrives. We look forward to introducing you on our next trip…hopefully soon. Until then…show us some Hawaii!! đ

It’s great to hear from you. Ellie will love NAU. No place I would rather be than Flagstaff during monsoon season. The air is clean. People are nice. Beautiful mountains to hike. Sedona only 45 minutes away and 15 degrees warmer is amazing during fall, winter, and spring. I am almost envious. Those were very good years.
