Ippy’s Hawaiian Barbecue Pork Loco Moco
I love Kalua Pork. I love Loco Moco. I love Ippy’s Hawaiian Barbecue. When I saw that Chef Ippy had my favorite foods together at one of my favorite restaurants, I got excited. So I just ordered the pork loco moco on a bed of rice and macaroni salad. Yum!!
First bite of the mac salad with tuna and thinly sliced carrots and the perfect balance of salt is mouth watering leaving me excited for the next bite. Many bites later I pull myself away to taste test the Kalua pork loco Moco. The egg on top I ordered over easy. Savoring my own anticipation for a moment I critically look over the dish. The aroma tantalizes my nostrils and my whole body relaxes as I take in the beauty of the gravy and the salty scent of the pork. As my first bites fill my essence with a sense of purpose I feel the lineage of hundreds of years of Hawaiian carnivores imbued within this delightful dish.
As I slip into a food coma and I feel my brain slow and my body satiated, I know for a fact I will be back to Ippy’s Hawaiian Barbecue. The portions are very generous. This will be at least 1 more meal, probably 2. For ambience I give Ippy’s 2 out of 5 surfboards. For food quality I give 5 out of 5 surfboards. For service I give 5 out of 5 surfboards. Overall I give it a 3.5surfboards.
